TIGI Bed Head “After Party” Review ♥

Hello Angels,

I know I know its been fairly long since I’ve been here, but what can I do, I guess I’m just a lazy a**. There I said it, THE TRUTH is out there now, off my chest. 🙂

Coming to the review, TIGI was kind enough to send this product to me for review, after using it several times, I seriously am in LOOOOOVE with this product. Let me break it down for you.

1-IMG_3124

Price: Rs 1000/- for 100ml

I adore the packaging, the bottle is plastic in a neon pink color. It comes with a pump dispenser, which is extremely convenient to use.

Here is a list of the ingredients from the company’s website:

  • Dimethiconol – Imparts shine and body
  • Propylene Glycol – Conditions and moisturizes hair
  • Mica – Enhances shine
  • Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil – Provides gloss
  • Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163) – Enhances shine

And here is what the product claims:

The perfect party favor. After-Party hair creme for silky, smooth, shiny, healthy looking hair. Control the funky flyaways and silk-ify your hair.

My Take on the product:

First thing you notice is the fragrance, it smells amaaazing, I don’t know how to describe but it just smells really nice. Then i just spread it on my palms and then work it on towel-dried hair. I feel, it works better on wet hair, rather than dried. As soon as I apply it, my hair instantly feels soft and silky. Then I usually blow dry, and then flat-iron or curl it. The end result is awesome!! My hair feels soft, manageable, the flyaways are tamed and the flat-ironing or the curls last much longer.

Pros:

  • Packaging is cute and the pump is makes it easy to use.
  • Smells amazing
  • Does what it says on the packaging
  • Makes hair soft and silky
  • Prolongs hair styling
  • Really tames frizzy hair
  • No parabens

Cons:

  • Can’t think of any, except that availability might be an issue for some

Overall Rating: A+

Heads Up For Tails ♥

Hello pet lovers,

This is a very special post. I have always been an animal lover, you can literally see that the moment you step into my house. I have two dogs (a Labrador retriever and a Pug), a “talking” parrot, and 3 pairs of fish. So when I was contacted by Heads Up for Tails, I was eagerly waiting for a collaboration. I have heard tons about their store in Saket and online, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on some stuff for my poochies.

So I got two doggie bandanas, a rope toy (which my labrador adores), and a cute note pad for myself. Here’s how my loves looked all dressed up:

(P.S. it is extremely difficult to photograph dogs).

My Lab just can’t seem to let his toy go. 🙂 All the products are of extremely good quality and are very durable. The shipping to takes very minimal time. You should definitely give them a shot.

If you love to get something cute for your pooch this season you should definitely check out Heads Up For Tails, they do awesome personalized stuff as well. As for all the Dilliwalas, you can also drop into their store.

Tips on Under Eye Care by Dr. Jamuna Pai

Renowned aesthetic physician and author, Dr. Jamuna Pai shares essential Under Eye Care tips in her premium skin and hair care guide, ‘No One Has To Know.’ Dr.Pai explains what dark circles are and how one’s lifestyle plays havoc with their under eye skin. She explains how the same can be prevented and treated.

eye-cream1

Dark circles-

Dark under-eye circles are due to the oxidizing of haemoglobin which begins in the capillaries, around the delicate skin around the eyes. It is quite possible that capillaries all over one’s body are leaking small amounts of blood all the time. But the reason dark under-eye circles are so apparent is that the skin around the eyes is some of the thinnest, most delicate skin of the body. The capillaries are much closer to the surface of the skin there.

How dark circles can be prevented-

It always helps to treat the reason which causes the problem. Correction of one’s lifestyle patterns, if that is the reason, holds prime importance. Many a times it is because of lifestyle abuse-like late-nights, erratic working hours, using computer for long hours, disturbed sleep patterns and most importantly stress. Lack of sleep contributes to stress hormones like cortisol being increased, a known cause of health problems and swelling under the eyes causing dark circles. Consciously making attempts to reduce stress or the contributory components also contributes to better sleep. Thus, relaxation should be increased not only for its own sake, but as a direct attempt to reduce stress so that more restful sleep follows and thereby results in lessening of the dark circles.

Besides that, one can use ointments rich in Kojic acid, lactic acid, arbutin at night and layer it with a good amount of moisturizer. The use of sunscreen regularly and intake of supplements of Vitamin C and antioxidants are a must.

Recommended Treatments –

There are various AHA peels which are effective in rejuvenating skin around the eyes by exfoliating damaged upper layers of skin to reveal new, healthier skin and lessening the dark circles. Laser resurfacing and intense pulse light treatments are other good options as they can reduce or eliminate the appearance of prominent veins and capillaries. These treatments have to be repeated every 4- 6 weeks to maintain the results.

Recommended Products-

A number of creams are available in the market which can lighten the dark circles.  They include lightening agent like Vitamin C, kojic acid, arbutin, azelic acid.  Treat the skin while sleeping by applications of these agents overnight . Amongst the homemade treatments one should try natural eye refreshers like a chilled slice of cucumber kept for around 10 to 15 minutes or a raw potato slice cooled in a refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes does help when done on regular basis. Dip cotton balls in rose water and place it on your eyes for 10-15 minutes every day.

Moisturising the under eye area is the most important thing for eye care. Likewise, using lubricated non medicated eye drops ensure that the eyes are always fresh and do not feel tired.
