Sephora Supreme Cleansing Oil Review & Demo ♥

Hello loves,

I can’t stop myself from writing a review from my recent Sephora visit, the one where I had a beauty emergency 😉

I will be reviewing the Sephora Supreme Cleansing Oil today.

Price: Rs. 800/- for 190 ml or 6.4 fl oz.

There has been a current rage about using oils on your face for moisturizing, removing makeup, etc. Following the rage, I thought of trying the Clarins Lotus Face treatment oil on my OILY  face. So I picked up a sample from the Clarins counter. Yes, I know I sound crazy using oil on my oily skin, but let me tell you it is Amaaaaaaaazing!! Thinking of purchasing the full-size bottle.

Coming back to the review, I was really fascinated by the the whole oil concept so I picked it up. IMG_2882

This product has a tag line “Nothing Stays on” , and that is definitely true. Here is an ingredient list. I hope its legible. Taking a picture here was a challenge.

The product comes in a simple and functional packaging, with a pump. What I did was, that I squirted two pumps on my hand and started to massage it on my face. It feels like any other oil. Then, I wet my hands and started massaging my face again, and I was really shocked to see that this oil magically turns into a lotion!! I just massaged this lotion on my eyes, face and lips. Then I washed it with lukewarm water, and viola, everything was gone. No makeup remover ever made my skin looking so clean. It was incredible. All my eye makeup, including eyeliner on my waterline, completely disappeared.

I tried to give you a demo of how good it is at removing makeup. Here I have some waterproof eyeliner, waterproof mascara, lip stain, regular lipsticks & cream blush.

Here with 2 pumps of the product. This looks like I burned my hand, GROSS!! Anything for the sake of a demo!!

It totally removed everything even before I added water to it. Now adding water to it, turns the oil into a lotion and completely removes everything.

This makeup remover is very moisturizing, it does not dry out the skin at all. But  it does leave a slight oily feeling later, that’s why I use my Clarins face wash after using this to remove any oil residue. But I guess, dry skin girlies can skip that.

The only downside I feel is, that you cannot use cold water to rinse this off. The first day I used it, I used cold water and the oil just won’t come off. But warm water removes it without any hassle. Just a small pointer there.

Pros:

  • Interesting concept.
  • Does what it says on the bottle. Nothing stays on!! and I mean NOTHING!!!!!!!
  • Has a mild fragrance. Nothing very overpowering.
  • I find it decently priced compared to a few high-end makeup removers who do a similar job.
  • Doesn’t dry out the skin.
  • Didn’t break me out.

Cons:

  • Have to use only warm water to rinse it out afterwards. But this doesn’t bother me much.
  • Available only at Sephora counters.

Summing up, this product has become my HG makeup remover for now.  Give it a try! It won’t disappoint you.

Burt’s Bees | Rejuvenating Lip Balm Acai Berry

Hello Lovelies,

I know I know I have been soo MIA lately, but seriously I had too much on my plate these past couple of weeks. Firstly, I had my 1st Wedding anniversary *still can’t believe it’s a year* , then we went on a beautiful, exotic trip to Phuket. It was amaaaazing!! Secondly, I have been having too many work emergencies making it difficult for me to focus on my blog. I am good at excuses, right??

Anywho, coming back to the review, I recently visited Sephora again to buy a few emergency beauty supplies, haha. 🙂  So I picked up the much-hyped Burt’s Bees lip balm. They looked quite appealing to me, and I can never have enough lip balms, so that was enough of an excuse to pick this up.

Price: Rs 400/- for 4.25 gms.

This one is the “Rejuvenating Lip Balm” with Acai berry.

The packaging is simple & very functional. Just your average lip balm packaging nothing very distinct. The thing which attracted me the most was “100% natural”.

IMG_2895

It has a very fruity fragrance and glides on very smoothly on the lips. The fragrance bothers me, also cos I am not a huge fan of fruity fragrances.

It hydrates the lips well, but nothing which any other cheaper lip balm wouldn’t live up to. It does, however, need to be reapplied after an hour or so to maintain the hydration.

Pros:

  • Functional packaging
  • glides smoothly on the lips
  • good enough hydration

Cons:

  • Expensive!!
  • nothing extraordinary in comparison to a cheaper lip balm
  • fruity fragrance, might not be a con to some

Final verdict: B

You could give this one a miss and go for the Maybelline Baby lips instead. Have you tried this product??

♥Sephora Haul♥

Hello fellow glam victims,

As some of you know, that last month I was just showing off my visit to Sephora *lame moment no. 3458* and promising a Sephora haul, which I never got around to posting. Then last night it suddenly dawned upon me, OMG I didn’t put up my Sephora Haul. So here goes is the long-awaited Sephora haul.

Here are a few things I got:

Sephora Haul

Sephora Haul

  • NYX Matte Black Liner- Collection Noir (02): This is a regular matte black liner, but it was on a buy-one-get-one-free deal so I decided to give it a try.
  • NYX Soft Matte lip cream (Tokyo):  This is a new product for me. It is amazing peachy-nude color that goes on smoothly and feels very light.
  • NYX Powder Blushes (Red and Pinky): I have really been into blushes lately and these were my firsts from NYX. One is pretty pink while the other is a raspberry red. Very very pretty colors.
  • Sephora Nano Lip Pencil (04 Candid Candy): This is the answer to my never-ending search for a nude lip liner. It is the perfect nude for my skin tone and looks flattering with pink lipsticks.
  • Sephora Long Lasting Kohl Pencil (07 Infinite Beige): This is a beige kohl liner just to brighten up the water-line.

Reviews and swatches for all these products coming soon. Let me know your recent purchases.
